What are some general fitness recommendations? |
| |
A.
Before beginning a fitness program, take some time to set very
specific and definable goals as well as a specific time frame
in which to reach those goals. Without goals, it will be difficult
to succeed. |
B.
Hire a personal trainer at least once in your lifetime for at
least three months. The education and tips you receive will
be invaluable and timeless. |
C.
In order to reach any fitness goal, you must do ALL of the following
or you will fail: (1) strength train with weights at least three
times each week; (2) intense cardiovascular exercise at least
three times each week for at least 20 minutes each time; (3)
eat right and drink lots of water. |
D.
There are no exceptions to C! |
E.
Always perform every exercise to failure (i.e., you cannot perform
one more repetition.). This is the one arena in life where failure
equates to success. |
| |
F.
To tone up, fail at 12-15 repetitions of any exercise. |
G.
To bulk up, fail at 6-8 repetitions of any exercise. |
H.
Completely change your workout routine, both weight-lifting
exercises and cardiovascular, every four weeks. |
